Dear Mr. Gruss,
I'm so glad I attended the assembly for the National Day on Writing. It was a great experience to hear so many accomplished writers speak to us. Just from your ten minute speech I learned about the writing process and what professional writers do for their stories. You also brought some humor into your talk, which was so refreshing compared to some of my classes that drone on and on. It was a pleasure hearing from you and I'll definitely start reading your column. Thank you for teaching me a little something I didn't know about writing.
