Teacher Barb is an extremely valuable asset to the upper school not only in terms of the high quality of education that she provides, but also in the way that she assists her students a great deal in a multitude of ways, from assisting with classwork to helping them get into college to the way in which she always does what is right. I speak both out of personal experience with her and simply out of observation of her interaction with other students.The former includes her great willingness to help me, concern when there is an issue (whether personal or academic), and even the way she always makes herself available to provide me with a password when one is required for a quiz in an online class. The latter includes many of the same things, but just in general I notice a significant, genuine desire to see all students work to the best of their potential and achieve great things. She is not only the glue that binds the upper school together, but also one of the key building blocks of the school, and for the life of me I cannot rationalize dismissing her from the school.
